What’s Saving My Life Right Now Mom Edition, Part 2
My last post was all about what’s saving my life right now - mom edition, but I focused on everything that was free. This week is everything else, so it’s part two of What’s Saving My Life Right Now - Mom Edition.
I shared my heart on the last post, but this post is where I share my favorite products and things I’ve been loving. I just came up with everything I’ve been using and really love in motherhood. I’ve divided it into two categories: for myself and for my kids:
For myself:
-Getting in some movement…of course with some good workout gear without the crazy price. This longline sports bra. Still working on finding a great shoe (maybe it’s all about the shoe inserts?), but whether it’s Burn Boot Camp or a walk/run near my house, working up a sweat does wonders for my mental (and physical) health and ability to parent with a clear mind and patience.
-Red light therapy: I use Lumebox most every night and it works WONDERS. I had awful, painful eczema on my fingers where I tried everything topical, including steroid cream from my doctor and nothing worked….except red light therapy. Use code stylefilesblog for $260 off! (And if you are reading this July 3-July 7th, the Lumebox will be 45% off with my link or code as part of their July 4th sale!) Totally worth the investment, and you can use HSA dollars for it!
-Minimalist makeup: Merit. Besides an SPF moisturizer, I literally use 5 makeup products (complexion stick, bronzer, blush, mascara, lip color) and I am good to go. Takes less than 5 minutes and has great coverage while still looking natural.
-Truly Free Home detergent and dishwasher soap. Bye bye, Cascade. I’ve seen this brand on Instagram, and let me tell you— it works! I’ve made my own laundry soap and it wasn’t getting the job done, but Truly Free does…and without the harsh chemicals. And the dishwasher soap leaves everything sparkling. Obsessed.
-My new planner. I am a paper planner gal through and through. I use it for allllll the appointments and kids’ activities, work projects, tasks to accomplish around the house, social stuff, etc. Trying out this one with a vertical weekly layout (vs a horizontal layout I’ve used previously). It feels so nice and durable! Plus, I got my initials embossed on it for a personal touch!
-Colored drinking glasses. I was tired of trying to figure out who drank out of what glass and constantly washing them. So, we got these and each family member uses a different color. They are great and save my sanity!
-Glass tumblers. Speaking of drinkware, these glass tumblers are great. I use them with my electrolytes/creatine after workouts, but also for a protein iced coffee in the afternoon. Super cute and love to ditch the plastic wherever I can!
-Chatbooks monthbooks. Photo management saves my life. It takes me 5 minutes each month to put my photos into the app for a monthly hardcover book to capture our memories in a physical place so we can look back on them and reminisce. Save 20% off (even subscriptions!) with code STYLEFILES.
-Reading a good book. I alternate between fiction and nonfiction. Most recently, I finished Say You’ll Remember Me and wrapping up M is for Mama. Both SO good. If you want ideas, check out the books I read last year here. Having books you read and love is SO good.
For my kids:
-Active Skin Repair. Great for cuts, scapes, raches, sunburns, insect bites, breakouts, all of it. Safe around eyes, nose, mouth and nontoxic! Get 10% off with code STYLEFILESVAL.
-Just Ingredients Electrolytes. My kids and I LOVE these and ditched Gatorade for this. Perfect on summer days or for filling up water bottles for baseball games and made with quality ingredients. Get 15% off here.
-Snackle boxes. Literally saving my life. Perfect for on the go baseball game life, trips to the beach or times when you need to eat on the road. Use them OFTEN. Check out my Instagram for ideas on what to pack!
-Pandora Plus. Whether we are in the car or have the speaker going outside, we love to blast some stations with George Ezra, Forrest Frank, Matthew West, and Casting Crowns. We also love to do podcasts like Smash, Boom Best and Buy Why? A Podcast for Curious Kids. Minimizes arguments and keeps us all engaged- WIN.
-Trampoline & Basketball. These two things are what my boys gravitate to when they have down time. It’s fun to join in on both too!
-Step tracker watch. My older son used his birthday money to grab himself a watch that tracks steps (and now his brother wants one too, ha!). We didn’t want anything that connected to the internet, although this has bluetooth options, and he likes to compete with me on daily steps to be active. A win win all around!
-Our kids’ school. I LOVE our kids’ school. Not because it’s saving my life and the kids are out of the house, but because it makes my life richer and better. I love the parents, the teachers, the staff. It’s quality Christian education both academically and spiritually, and I’m SO thankful. It keeps me on track, I know my kids are getting a great education and the community of the church and school is a real gift.
So there you have it! But you know what? The truth is the Lord is the one that saves my life, every single day, week and hour. He is the one keeping me with my eyes and chin up. So don’t miss my previous post on what is giving me life. Hope you found some practical items to maybe enhance your own life in different ways!
